Burt & Max's, a sister establishment to Boca Raton's popular Max's Grille, opened February 2013 in the Delray Marketplace. Burt & Max's offers westward residents a contemporary, neighborhood bar and grille suitable for special occasions, date nights or casual drinks with friends. The modern, comfortable décor goes hand-in-hand with Chef Dan Moores's classic and new American menu options which focuses on small and sharing plates, signature entrees, as well as innovative items coming from the restaurant's wood-fired pizza oven.
Burt & Max's interiors, conceptualized by South Florida designer Pam Manhas, of Manhas Design, incorporate many natural finishes, reclaimed and aged barn woods, industrial lighting, a tile-faced pizza oven and a 32-foot bar made of a single slab of cypress wood. Whimsical touches include an entry area paved with thousands of pennies to a wall featuring photographs of rock 'n' roll legends, from Joplin to Jagger. The layout includes indoor/outdoor seating areas, two spacious bars, a fire pit lounge, lush landscaping, semi private and private dining areas. The focal point of the restaurant is a wood burning grill and exhibition kitchen.
